Aerol®
Silicone Compounds
Aerol®
Silicone Compounds are versatile lubricating
preparations possessing unique characteristics.
These compounds are based on Silicone fluids
and contain either a non-soap thickener or
are thickened with Lithium soap. The consistency
of Silicone compounds will vary from a soft,
buttery texture to a hard and tacky formulation.
These greases are free from petroleum products,
do not attack plastic substrates and therefore
are outstanding lubricants for plastic, rubber
and glass. Silicone compounds are non-carbonizing,
oxidation resistant, non-solidifying, bleed
and drip resistant, mild acid and alkali resistant,
moisture resistant and are serviceable over
a wide temperature range from –40°C upto 220°C. They exhibit outstanding resistance
to extreme weather conditions and have excellent
dielectric properties. They are also chemically
inert and are non-toxic in nature. These compounds
exhibit excellent release properties and are
used as mould release agents for plastics,
rubber and even metal castings. These greases
are outstanding lubricants for plastics, glass
and rubber surfaces. Several grades have
been formulated and are described below.
A special version of silicone compound that
contains metallic oxides is used as a heat
transfer medium for electronic components
and is often referred to as ‘Heat-Sink
Compound’.
Another particular grade of Silicone Compound
has been formulated with Moly Sulphide
dispersed in a Silicone Fluid base.Applications
Due to these unique properties, Silicone
Compounds find application in many areas such
as Lubrication of plastic, rubber, glass and
metals surfaces in consumer electronics,
sanitary, laboratory glassware, toys, cameras,
microscopes, automobile components etc. Mould
Release applications of plastics, rubber and
metals. Weather proofing, corrosion
protection, insulation and moisture barrier
applications in electronics.

Aerol® Semi
Synthetic Compounds |
Aerol®
Semi Synthetic compounds are based on synthetic
fluids thickened with lithium soaps and are
designed for specialty applications such as High
speed bearings, Non drip applications, Water
wash out resistance and High temperature
service. These compounds can withstand
moderately high loads and contain a polymeric
additive, which improves its affinity to metal
surfaces. These greases provide better
lubrication than ordinary lithium / petroleum
greases and have a longer serviceable life.
Typical serviceable temperatures are 18oC to
170oC.

| Applications |
Lubrication
of High Speed bearings and Spindles in Textile
and Printing Machinery, Pump Sets, Agitator
drives etc. Lubricate equipment where the grease
is thrown off due to high speeds or oil lubrication
is inadequate due to dripping off. Lubrication
of electronic components and assemblies in equipment
such as audio / video tape deck mechanisms,
motor assemblies, vending machines, textile
and printing machinery, high speed conveyers,
automotive components and assemblies etc. General-purpose
lubrication of all shop floor and machine shop
applications where a durable and long life lubricant
is required. Lubrication of sheet metal press
shop equipment, stone cutting, grinding, punching
and hammering equipment, motor assemblies.
