The pharmaceutical industry utilizes Afra®9030, Activated Dimethyl Silicone Emulsion (Simethicone) for Antiflatulent Oral Liquid & Tablets, Defoaming in Fermentation, Maceration & Mixing process, Antibiotic production and Ampoule/ bottle filling operations. The industrial applications include defoaming in Dyeing of textiles, production of aqueous Paints and Varnish, Adhesives, Soaps, Cosmetics, Rubber latex items etc.

Method of use
Afra®9030, Activated Dimethyl Silicone Emulsion (Simethicone Emulsion) is a highly effective defoamer/ antifoam. It is mostly used in aqueous systems and diluted with water prior to use. Evaluation of defoaming effectiveness should be started at 10ppm Silicone contents and adjusted according to results.
 

Afra®9610, Activated Dimethyl Silicone Emulsion is a water dispersable form of a polydimethylsiloxane and silicone dioxide mixture (simethicone). The chemically inert nature of this product facilitates its use as a defoamer/ antifoam in Textile, Paint and Varnish, Paper, Food, Beverage, Cosmetics and Chemical processing.

It is mostly used in non-aqueous systems and diluted with aromatic, aliphatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons prior to use. Typical solvents for dilution are toluene, xylene, mineral spirits, hexane, heptane, naphtha, methylene chloride etc. Evaluation of defoaming effectiveness should be started at 10ppm Silicone contents and adjusted according to results.
